I had a feeling Schneiderlin might not be ready for a full game. He could come on when Barry starts feeling it. No attacking options on the bench except Lookman so his chances of getting minutes are good.

New faces named on the benchRonald Koeman has named new recruits Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman on the bench for the visit of Manchester City. The Blues boss has made one change to the side that lost 2-1 to Leicester City last time out, with Kevin Mirallas coming in for Enner Valencia. The Belgian joins Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku as the attacking trio for the Blues, with Koeman once again choosing Tom Davies to partner Gareth Barry in anchoring the midfield. Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines are deployed as wing-backs, with Mason Holgate joining Ashley Williams and Ramiro Funes Mori as the back three. Joining Schneiderlin and Lookman on the bench are Valencia, the fit-again duo of Maarten Stekelenburg and James McCarthy, and Phil Jagielka and Aaron Lennon. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola keeps faith with the same side that beat West Ham 5-0 in the FA Cup last week, meaning former Toffee John Stones starts on his return to Goodison Park.
