At Everton between 2014 - 2015

Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o signed for Everton on 26 August 2014.

The vastly-experienced striker joined on a free transfer and put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal.

Joining Real Madrid's youth academy as a 16-year old in 1997, Eto'o would be loaned out to CD Leganes and Espanyol before making a name for himself at Real Mallorca.

An initial loan was turned into a club record signing of £4.4million and he struck over 50 goals across four seasons for the Spanish side. A late Eto'o brace secured the Copa del Rey trophy in 2003.

Leaving the club as their all-time leading domestic league scorer, the pacey forward signed for Barcelona in the summer of 2004 for a fee of £24million.

At the Camp Nou, he would go on to hit over 100 goals across four trophy-laden campaigns. A league title in his debut season was followed by the La Liga top scorer award in 2005/06 and his first Champions League medal.

In his last season at Barcelona, Eto'o weighed in with 36 goals including vital strikes in the Champions League final and title run-in as the Catalans completed a historic treble.

He joined Inter Milan that summer and became the first player to win consecutive European continental trebles following with Champions League, Serie A and Italian SuperCup successes.

Switching to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in 2011, he later signed for Chelsea to work with former Inter mentor Jose Mourinho in 2013. His one-year deal ran out at the end of the campaign in which he netted 12 goals in 34 appearances.

On the international front, Eto'o has 118 caps and a record 56 goals for his country.

He was part of the squad that won the 2000 Olympic tournament and has participated in three World Cups. He has featured in six Africa Cup of Nations, helping Cameroon to be crowned champions twice.

He is the most decorated African player of all time, having won the African Player of the Year award a record four times, while he came third in the FIFA World Player of the Year vote in 2005.

Samuel left Everton in January 2015, and signed a 2 1/2 year deal with Sampdoria, before again moving on a few months later to Turkish side Antalyaspor where he signed a 3 year deal.

On 31 January 2018, after leaving Antalyaspor by mutual consent, Eto'o joined league rivals Konyaspor on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

He signed for Qatar SC in August 2018, and on 7th September 2019, Eto'o announced his retirement from football.
