Paul Clement

Picture of Paul Clement

Former First Team Coach

Clement has worked as a manager, assistant manager and coach during a distinguished professional career.

The 50-year-old was trusted assistant to Carlo Ancelotti on a number of occasions, the first of which saw him help Chelsea to a Premier League and FA Cup Double in 2009/10.

In 2011, Ancelotti appointed Clement by his side while in charge of Paris Saint-Germain – and the pair won the Ligue 1 title in their only full season at the club, PSG’s first championship since 1994.

Clement was named assistant again, with fellow deputy Zinedine Zidane, as Ancelotti took the reins at Real Madrid in June 2013.

He helped the Spanish team claim a 10th Champions League crown, in addition to the UEFA Super Cup and Copa del Rey, in his maiden season at the Bernabéu.

The trio of Ancelotti, Clement and Zidane also landed the club's first FIFA Club World Cup title in 2014.

In the summer of June 2015, Clement was appointed manager of Championship outfit Derby County but, despite losing only once in 19 games from September to December, left in February with the Rams fifth in the league table.

He linked-up again with Ancelotti in June 2016 as assistant at Bayern Munich and landed the 2016 DFL-Supercup, defeating Borussia Dortmund 2–0 in the final of the competition.

Spells as manager of Swansea City, where he took charge in January 2017, Reading and Cercle Brugge followed, before Clement was confirmed as Lampard’s First-Team coach with Everton.

On 23rd January 2023, Everton announced that Frank Lampard and staff had left the club. Good luck to Paul from all at Love Everton Forum.
