At Everton between 2014 - 2019
Joe Williams signed a three-year professional contract at Everton in July 2014.
The tough-tackling midfielder had been at the Blues' Academy since the age of seven, becoming a first-year scholar in June 2013.
He broke into the Under-21s set-up that season, becoming a near ever-present in the centre of the park while also aiding the Under-18s to Premier League glory.
He was awarded academy player of the year 2013/14.
In December 2014, Williams was named on the bench for Everton's first-team game against FC Krasnodar.
At the end of the 2015-16 campaign Joe was named the Under-21s player of the season.
Joe suffered a knee injury in May 2016, only to return in the November and injure his ankle.
On 24th February 2017 Joe signed a contract extension that would keep him at the club for a further 3 years.
On 20th July 2017 Joe joined Barnsley on a season-long loan.
On 23rd August 2018, Joe completed a season-long loan move to Championship team Bolton Wanderers.
On 31st July 2019, Joe joined Wigan Athletic signing a 3 year deal. Then on 20th August 2020, Joe signed a 4 year deal with Bristol City.
