At Everton between 2008 - 2018


Gethin Jones joined Everton’s Academy at the age of 12.

Originally a central midfielder, he has since been converted to a right-back to utilise his pace.

He lifted the Under-18s Premier League title alongside fellow co-captain Russell Griffiths in May 2014 before putting pen-to-paper on a one-year professional contract later that summer.

Jones capped a fine year by making his senior Everton debut against FC Krasnodar in the December, replacing fellow Academy graduate Tyias Browning in the final minute.

Despite being born in Australia, Jones has represented and captained Wales at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 levels. In March 2015 he joined Plymouth Argyle on loan and went on to make eight appearances for the Pilgrims, who suffered a semi-final defeat against Wycombe in the League Two play-offs.

On 31st July 2015, Gethin signed a 2 year contract with the club

On 17th January 2017, Gethin Jones joined Championship side Barnsley on loan until the end of the season.

On 4th July 2017, Gethin signed a new deal with Everton, keeping him at the club for another 12 months. On 5th January, Everton announced Gethin had signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Fleetwood Town. Good luck to Gethin from all at Love Everton.
