Roberts joined Everton as first team coach in December 2018, reuniting with Willie Kirk.

The pair had worked together previously at Scottish club Hibernian and fellow WSL side Bristol City.

Roberts spent 11 years working in various roles within the Scottish Football Association, including Under-14s Regional Development Coach and Football Development Officer, before stepping up to become assistant with Scotland’s Under-19s.

In 2011, he left to become first team coach at Hibs under Kirk, spending three years there before stepping up to Head Coach in July 2014 after his countryman moved on to take on a role with the Scottish FA.

In October 2017, Roberts was on the move again, linking up with Kirk once again south of the border at Bristol City. The pair guided the Vixens to promotion from WSL 2 and cemented their place in the top flight with consecutive eighth place finishes.
