Former First Team Coach

Jones originally joined Chelsea as reserve-team fitness coach in June 2006 and stayed at Stamford Bridge until January 2021 – save for a single season working with Frank Lampard at Derby County in 2018/19.

The 45-year-old's promotion to a first-team position in 2009 coincided with Chelsea’s Double season, when Clement was assistant to boss Carlo Ancelotti and Lampard’s 27 goals included the winning FA Cup final strike against Everton.

A variety of elite managers – Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink, among them – retained Jones as a prominent backroom-team figure in a period when Chelsea won one Champions League, three Premier League titles, three FA Cups, one UEFA Cup and one League Cup.

Jones was by Lampard’s side as Derby reached the 2019 Championship play-off final and duly followed Chelsea's record goalscorer back to West London as assistant manager.

He remained with Chelsea until January 2021 and 12 months later accepted an offer to team up with Lampard at Goodison Park.

On 23rd January 2023, Everton announced that Frank Lampard and staff had left the club. Good luck to Chris from all at Love Everton Forum.
