An attacking midfielder who includes dribbling and finishing among his strengths, Gordon has represented England at Under 15 & Under 18 level.
After an impressive goalscoring run for Everton's Under-18s in the opening few months of the 2017/18 season, he became the first player to be born in the 21st century to play for the Blues' first team when - aged 16 years 286 days - Gordon came on as a substitute in the Toffees' 3-0 Europa League group stage win over Apollon Limassol in Cyprus.
The feat on 7 December 2017 made him the sixth youngest player to ever play for Everton's first team.
Anthony was awarded the U18 Player Of The Season in May 2018.
On November 6th 2018, Anthony came on as a substitute for the first team against Gor Mahia.
On 6th March 2018, Anthony Gordon signed his first professional contract with Everton until the end of June 2023.
In 2018-19 the under 23 team went on to win both the Premier League 2 league title and the Premier League Cup.
Anthony started training with the first team squad the following season, and gradually earned his place in the first team during the 2019-20 season.
On 1st September 2020, Everton announced that Anthony had signed a new 5 year deal with the club.
Anthony was awarded 'Under-23 Player of the Season' after the 2019-20 campaign.
On 1st February 2021, Everton announced that Gordon has signed for Preston North End on loan for the remainder of the season.
At the end of the 2021-22 season, Anthony was voted Players’ Player of the Season. “This lad has really come into his own,” said then captain Seamus Coleman. “He’s worked so hard, grafted, and the Evertonians have really taken to him.
“You [Gordon] have been a credit to yourself for the past year.”
Gordon said: “Thanks to all my teammates, they have given me a lot of advice on and off the pitch and I couldn‘t have done it without them.”
Collecting his young player prize, Gordon added: “Thank you to everyone who voted for me. Your support has gone a long way for us this season, so thank you very much.”
