Aaron Lennon has returned to Everton Football Club on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The winger rejoins from Tottenham Hotspur following his successful loan spell at Goodison Park during the second half of the 2014/15 campaign.

Club officials provided the relevant paperwork before today’s 6pm deadline and the deal has now been rubber-stamped.

Manager Roberto Martinez said: "We are delighted to welcome Aaron back to Everton. We know we are getting a player our fans know inside out. He had a major role in the second half of our season and we're looking forward to Aaron kicking on and continuing to enjoy his football, as well as being the productive player we know he can be.

"He is well-respected in the dressing room, his experience in the Premier League is immense and he will immediately add to our squad and to the ambition we have as a club."

Lennon made 12 starts and two substitute appearances last season for the Toffees, scoring goals in the away Premier League matches against Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers.

He is the second player to join Everton on transfer deadline day, after defender Ramiro Funes Mori completed his £9.5million switch from River Plate earlier on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old has made over 350 appearances for Tottenham and helped the north London club win the League Cup in 2007/08.

Lennon, who started his career with Leeds United, has won 21 senior international caps for England and played at both the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.

On 23rd January 2018, Aaron signed a permanent deal with Burnley.
